CSK beats RCB by 6 Wicket in their inaugural game thanks to the clinical chases of Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja. The hosts were placed in a bit of a bind by Cameron Green’s couple of wickets in the middle overs, but Dube and Jadeja’s composure pulled CSK through.
Prior to that, Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated 173/6 in the opening IPL 2024 match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Friday thanks to cameos from Dinesh Karthik and Anuj Rawat. With four wickets, Mustafizur Rahman was the CSK best bowler. Faf du Plessis elected to bat first after winning the toss.

The opening game of the 2024 season is won by the defending champions thanks to a bowl from Joseph that goes down the leg-side, strikes Dube’s pads, and races away for a boundary. They had some difficulties along the way, so it hasn’t been a perfect run chase, but in the end they figured out a way. For RCB, everything seemed well in several areas but faltered during key junctures. RCB must wait as CSK misses the mark.

To win, CSK requires ten runs. Dube has played a brilliant inning; despite being frequently pitched short pitches, he has managed to hold on and is now in position to lead the Chennai Super Kings to their first victory of the season. Although the short ball approach appeared effective at one point, RCB went overboard.

We gave a fairly comprehensive performance. We kept our composure. Batting alongside two really composed individuals, Ajinkya Rahane and Rituraj Gaikwad. We were fortunate to receive excellent instruction for four to five days. switching from red to white ball is easy for me because location are same. It’s been going well. Even wickets in practise were a little different. The incredible crowd provided an excellent experience. Very helpful,” remarks Rachin Ravindra.
Honesty from Dinesh Karthik
In 16 IPL seasons, Dinesh Karthik‘s 38* is his greatest IPL score in his home stadium of Chennai. But the veteran’s appraisal in the mid-innings chat was surprisingly candid. A little rusty. Until the very end, I was merely struggling with my form. It was not going as easily as I would have liked. However, this is understandable, I suppose, given that I spend a lot of time (in commentary) with each of you. Regarding his time behind the mike in recent months, DK remarked, “I’m just trying to get into the swing of things.” The Tamil Nadu batsman, who showered Anuj Rawat with accolades after his outstanding knock, continued by saying that he thought the RCB was still a little below par despite their comeback.
Deshpande bowled really well in the last over, but I was unable to connect for a six. The difference between the 182-183 and the 173 would have been the outcome if I had hit a single six.

The inning has ended at that point. RCB has made an incredible turnaround. Throughout the entire innings, there were ups and downs, and in the end, it was RCB who emerged victorious.
