Comprehensive win for India to kickstart their U19 world cup campaign. The century partnership between Adarsh Singh and Uday and Saharan Saumy Panday’s four wickets helped India beat Bangladesh by 84 runs in their first match of the U-19 World Cup at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein. In first inning India score 251 after loss of five wickets but Bangladesh is unable to chase. They only got 167 runs after loss of 10 wickets.

Earlier Maruf Mridha’s five-wicket haul stop India to a par total of 251/7. Bangladesh captain Mahfuz Ur Rahman Rabby won the toss and elected to field first. After losing a couple of early wickets Adarsh Singh and skipper Uday Saharan built a great partnership to set India a good platform however, due to Maruf’s burst at the India is unable to get good score.

In reply Bangladesh got decent start scoring 33 runs without losing any wicket. Murugan Abhishek took an excellence catch which provide breakthrough, Saumy Pandey got twice in two overs due to which Bangladesh score only 50 runs after losing 4 wickets. India stops Bangladesh on 167 runs and win by massive difference of 84 runs.

In this match Saumy Pandey took 4 wickets, Adarsh Singh score 76 runs in 96 balls with help of 6 fours. For his brilliant performance Adarsh Singh is awarded as Man of the Match award.
